The 19th Ottawa Group Meeting in Warsaw: Shaping the Future of Price Statistics
Improving the measurement of inflation, making better use of new data sources and advancing methods for tracking price change were the main themes of the Nineteenth Ottawa Group Meeting on Price Indices, held on 13-15 May in Warsaw. The event brought together experts from national statistical offices, international organisations and research centres specialising in price statistics.
Discussions centred on the challenges posed by an increasingly complex market for goods and services, as well as the growing role of alternative data sources in the compilation of price indices.
For many years, the Ottawa Group has served as one of the key international forums for exchange of experience in price statistics. The Warsaw meeting confirmed that cooperation between experts from different countries remains essential for developing modern, comparable and reliable methods for measuring price change.
