V4 statistical offices set out plans for Slovakia’s presidency
A joint publication, expert workshops and staff exchanges will form the basis of cooperation between the statistical offices of Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary during Slovakia’s presidency of the Visegrád Group (V4). The plan was agreed at a meeting of the heads of the V4 statistical offices in Starý Smokovec, Slovakia, on 8–9 September 2026. Statistics Poland was represented by Hanna Strzelecka, Vice-president for Social Statistics.
At the meeting, the participants signed Annex IX to the Memorandum of Understanding on Co-operation among the Statistical Institutes of the Visegrád Group countries. The annex sets out joint activities for Slovakia’s presidency, which runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.
The next step will be to put the plan into practice, allowing the offices to draw on one another’s experience and on approaches that have worked in other V4 countries.
